WW1 German M16 Splotch Camouflage Helmet

Interesting German M16 helmet with an ochre & green splotch camouflage to its exterior paint.
This helmet was outbuilding stored for many years so displays the effects of damp however its camouflage paint can still be seen over the factory apple green. Literallly applied in irregular circular splotches this is a scheme well known to have been used but not as common as the regulation patterns. The maker of 'ET' can just about be discerned to the underside of the skirt with the size I would estimate as a '64' although not guaranteed. There are some rust areas evident with liner pad holders showing the effects of prolonged damp conditions.
Interesting helmet & no doubt a combat piece.
