WW2 US Fixed Bales , Front Seam M1 Helmet With Medic Insignia
A fine example of the US M1 steel helmet .
The shell is a textbook Mccord made product with a lot number clearly stamped dating this shell to November /December of 1942 .The very square form of the bales are a Mccord feature and the flat sheet Bronze buckle also confirm a 1942 time frame . The shells paint is very much above average with much factory cork texture remaining . To the shell front is residue of where a cross was applied with paper tape mostly indicating a medic. The liner is a Westinghouse example with some nice if a little faint wording reading Brooklyn ,New York . The nape strap and leather liner strap are now absent . A very nice lightly worn example of a truly iconic piece of WW2 Combat headgear .
