WW2 US M1 Helmet with Hawley liner .
Early WW2 issue American M1 helmet with front seam & fixed bales Made by Mcord , The heat stamp is of late 42 . Coming in conjunction with early Hawley liner.
This helmet is typical of those issued to American troops before they came to England & then subsequently on to Normandy for the D-Day landings.
The steel shell has all of its original cork mixed olive green wartime paint to exterior & interior with an early raised bar type brass chinstrap buckle & J hook. The Hawley liner has triple weave HBT suspension likelly made by the firm Vogt Manufacturing & is complete with nape strap & headband. The body of this stockinged covered fibre helmet is still in good condition but has one small neatly struck through the liners crown .The leather sweat band has brokebn in two places but is stll well attached inside the cradles framework .
