WW2 British RAF 1943 Pattern "Escape" Flying boots.
A super pair of the high quality flyers issued boots that were an ingenious design from the brain of MI9 escape specialist Christopher Clayton Hutton, responsible for so many allied escape tools and equipment. The fleece lined uppers could be cut away on landing and the boots would then become civilian looking shoes . A small pen knife was concealed inside a pocket within one of the fleece linings (Pen knife minus ). Broad arrow marked zip denotes manufacture from 1943 onwards. ( Marked Lightning to reverse )
The condition is good with supple leather and showing light service wear . Zippers are all working and the original laces are still present . Soles marked 9-10.
