WW1 French M1912/16 Ankle Boots - 1916

An exceptionally rare pair of the sought after standard issue WW1 French ankle boots these dating from around the 1916 period.
As with most WW1 French uniforms the pattern dates from before WW1 ( 1912 ) with improvements made to the design in 1916 following feedback from extensive wear & trench warfare. There are various markings now illegible due to wear & the original soles show the majority of studs with nails still intact . Leather is in very good condition with some stiffness.
