WW1 Portuguese Steel Helmet

The helmet adopted in 1916 by the Portuguese expeditionary force was a British made shell with the distinctive fluting . To find example as here with the very first model of ling is very hard and thus makes these a rare and very interesting talking point in any great war headgear collection . In service worn condition the liner shows some wear with the original and almost always missing chinstrap still in place .
