WW2 British Senior Air Raid Wardens Helmet 1939

A wonderful recently shed found 'Timecapsule' piece of London Blitz history ! This WW2 Home Front Chief Wardens helmet has senior rank double black stripes with 'W' to front & back.
This helmet shows heavy wear & must have seen much devastation in the aftermath of the London bombing raids. Uncleaned & still with the dirt & cobwebs of many years of shed storage the liner has date 1939. Chinstrap is original to the helmet but has seperated in the middle apparently due to having been hung up on a nail in the shed for many years.
A true piece of Home Front 'Blitz' history .
