WW2 British Home Guard Webbing Sleeve & Belt 1940/42

From a complete set we recently acquired the sleeve has clearly been on the belt for a very long time with the freshness of the unexposed leather very apparent when the sleeve is moved.
Belt is the standard 03 pattern pressed into Home Guard service with BHG Ltd ( Barrow, Hepburn & Gale ) maker & 1940 date. Webbing sleeve marked on the outside 'H&S' the rest is illegible.  read more

Pre WW1 French Gendarmerie Kepi

Interesting French Kepi from the late 1800s to a member of the Gendarmerie ( Military Police ).

An early private purchase kepi for an NCO of the 15th Chasseurs A' Cheval ( French Cavalry).
Originating from the latter part of the 1800s it has light blue band & red body with gilt chinstrap & plain buttons for sergeant rank . WW1 British '08/'14 Pattern Largepack 1915

This is an unblancoed largepack known as the Pattern 1908/Pattern 1914 Convertible Pack with no lower chapes or tongued buckles of the true 1914 pattern packs. So in simple terms it was converted into an '08 pack to be used with the '08 pattern webbing equipment which most troops were eventually equipped with.
