*** Falaise Gap , Normandy *** Pickup M40 Army Helmet

Left out for the binmen some 60 years ago this was recovered by the vendors father & recently inherited by his son ...
Faintly written on the liner are the words & date ' Falaise Gap 30th August 1944 ' . I would guess this is the date it was picked up by the soldier whilst surveying the carnage of the Falaise Gap some days after the fighting was over.

WW2 1939 Pattern Binocular Case , RAF Issue.

Scarce binocular case from the 1939 pattern British equipment set. These cases were often issued to RAF personnel this example being Air Ministry marked to the front.

Interesting souvenired Japanese Nambu holster with names of places served written onto the front of the top flap .
Those places include Nagoia-Japan, Lungayen-Japan, Nasana-Japan ,Osana-Japan to name but a few. There are Japanese symbols to the underside of the flap with what appears to ba an American soldiers name 'Buzzanca' handwritten in.  read more
